“We were the 2nd couple to try out the brand new luxury pods perched on the beautiful property at Cape Otway and we were blown away by this amazing & secluded location. The views of the ocean as the sun set beyond the horizon was one of the best sun sets we’ve ever seen. The cosy pod is well equipped and has everything you need to relax, unwind and enjoy the 180 degree views. At night an easy set up projector is available for some great night time entertainment. The host Maxwell is a top bloke and was very helpful with recommendations and showing us around, 5 star accommodation we will be back!”

“Incredible experience. It really is off the grid and was perfect for my partner and I. We spent our time just sitting on the deck and in the morning we woke up to kangaroos at our window looking in! “Where do I start... Max was an absolute legend! His knowledge of the land and his passion, enthusiasm and energy radiates from him the moment you exchange “hello’s”. You’re greeted personally by Max, shown around the pod which is designed beautifully and with the environment in mind. Max’s knowledge of the land, it’s history and surrounding things to do is second to none. This was our last night of our honeymoon and we didn’t think to bring a bottle of wine, Max went out of his way to personally deliver us some wine (on his tractor of course). Thanks legend! The bed is insanely comfortable, the views are amazing and the stars - like we’ve never seen before! Our recommendation would be to turn up with all your supplies so that you don’t need to leave! Kitchen is well equipped with all cooking equipment and has the basics like olive oil, salt & pepper, tea & coffee, milk etc. We only wished we’d booked for longer! We’ll be back! Couldn’t fault a single thing! Thanks guys!”

Max is truly the most genuine host we have ever encountered. His knowledge and passion for the area is evident within seconds of meeting him. “Stylish luxury at its best! Sky pod 1 was more spectacular than expected. Brand new, architecturally designed, and solar powered, these eco pods are incredible. Situated on the edge of a crest with 180 degree unobstructed views of national park and ocean. Bring supplies because you won’t want to leave. A secluded beach is a short walk away with the lighthouse and Angel Falls to explore. We had the perfect weekend stay. By far the best Great Ocean Road accommodation I’ve ever stayed in! “I actually struggled to write this review, because I didn't know where to start. Staying here inspired in me an almost philosophical mood, and a sense of wonderment and admiration. It is just stunning. The pod itself is beautifully designed. It's got a small footprint, but the use of space is so ingenious! It manages to fit a (gorgeous) bathroom, a kitchen, a living space with a fireplace, a bar table, the bed, and the deck. Oh, and a portable projector and retractable screen. And storage space. It is *so comfortable* to live in. The *quality* of *everything* is brilliant. The pods have fantastic insulation. We came in winter, and we were never cold, even in the morning — better than in our own home! At times with the fireplace on we actually had to open the windows. The kitchen is well-appointed too: a Nespresso machine, Smeg appliances, great Füri knives... Sheridan towels in the bathroom... The bed is comfy and the linen is luxurious... These pods are a labour of love. The location... Well, the pictures say it all but also don't do it justice. The sunsets are spectacular, the Great Ocean Walk is a short walk away, and so is the pristine Station Beach. Max kindly gave us a tour of his property — including a spectacular 350 year old manna gum — that was a highlight of our stay. Max should be rightly proud of what he has created here. He told us early on that he and his wife have a passion for this stuff, and their passion shone through in every aspect of our visit. Thank you, Max, for a wonderful experience.”

“Max’s place was absolutely incredible!! I cannot fault any part of our stay. The pod was extremely clean, and the view was indescribable - we have already chosen dates to visit again over summer. The property has so much wildlife with many kangaroos, wallabies, birds and koalas at your door step. Max was also very knowledgeable with lots of recommendations on what to see around Cape Otway. We did not feel the need to leave there was so much to do. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could want. The private beach access was also a highlight. The Sky Pod is hands down one of the best Airbnb’s we have ever stayed at! We will be back.”

“Maxwell has a dual role - on one hand he is one of the kindest gentlemen alive with a zest for life that is both palpable and infectious and on the other he fulfils his role as St Peter. This dream like character meets you at the gates and lets you into paradise. You can scarcely believe your luck at being allowed to stay at his little slice of heaven - nature meets luxury like never before. On your doorstep some of the finest treks imaginable while being able to retreat at night to a hot shower, a home cooked meal by the fire and an evening either watching the stars (or should they not appear) a movie on the impressive projector. I was tempted to write a bad review in the hopes of being selfish and keeping this corner of the world to ourselves but life like this deserves to be shared just as Maxwell is so kind to do with the rest of the planet. 11/10 - would recommend.”
